The pursuit of happiness

“Happiness is a journey not a destination.”

Everyone wants to be happy but What is happiness? Is it laughing or crying? Is it simply spending time with the people you love? Is it just waking up in the morning? Is it finally getting to sleep in ?

What is your definition of Happiness?

To me Happiness is very subjective to the individual.  It’s difficult to measure and difficult to define as one thing. Happiness is a Science?

The Pursuit of Happyness was a 2006 film starring Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith.  If you were to notice that this film is not a feel good film but a strikingly real portrayal of a problem that is all too real. It’s not a film that you will forget to easily. I remembering watching when I was 12. I cried a river. I’m already developing tears now thinking about it. It was touching, real, inspirational and not at all cheesy. It made me love every father on the planet as it shares the struggles of everyday life. My family is quite well above the middle class earning household despite that we have been through some tough times, not nearly as tough as portrayed in the film. Yet it hit so close to home for me despite never being poor. Chris Gardner is really inspirational as a self made man and loving father. This film challenges your visions of family and society. It really makes you question equal opportunity. The Pursuit of Happyness is worth your time and tells you a true story that has you before you know it.

What is Happiness?  Happiness is when life fulfils your needs. The experiences, the party, the dreams, your passion, laughter and wonderful meal in front of you. Happiness is the contentment, that life is just as it should be, nothing more nothing less. Just as perfect happiness is hard to achieve without wanting more, it is also hard to keep.

The thing is you have to find your definition of happiness because a happy person isn’t always happy.Happiness is a choice, nothing can make us happy unless we choose to be happy.

“Always remember that sleep with a dream and wake up with a purpose.”
